Does Your Toddler Stink?

I'm not referring to the noxious fumes that emanate from a full diaper. Rather, how many of you have tots that smell like decaying food or rancid milk?

I would suspect that if you bathe your child regularly, then he probably doesn't attract flies on a daily basis.

That said I wonder how well a new product dubbed Love, Chic Baby, is going to go over with parents with young children?

Love, Chic Baby is cologne and perfume for babies and toddlers.

Yes, just in case your sweetie doesn't smell up to snuff, then you can douse her with artificial scents.

Did I mention that the product features two versions: one for boys and one for girls. Because goodness knows dirty, stinky boys need all the help they can get, especially when they are crawling around people's feet all day.

According to the company's website, "Coco" for girl is "a calming, airy fragrance" with "a soft bouquet of pink mandarin, Italian bergamot, water lily, pink peony, yellow freesia, island pineapple, and sheer rose." Meanwhile, "Momo" for boys has a scent that "tickles the sense" with a mix of "mandarin, orange, pink grapefruit, wild strawberry, sweetheart melon, and dewberry." Sounds more like the contents of my favorite Jamba Juice than cologne for rough and tumble male tots. Still, I'm sure it does a fine job of masking the smell of dried Cheerios and sour yogurt. Then again, so does soap, water and a little scrubbing.

But perhaps I am missing the point here. After all, the company does say that Love, Baby Chic is more than just a product designed to make your tot smell yummy. According to the company's website, the luxurious fresh scents are designed to "pamper" and "relax" your toddler. The site doesn't detail how spraying a tot with perfume yields this euphoric state. Unless, of course, smelling like "island pineapple" and "wild strawberry" prompts your child to lick him/herself like a lollipop. I suppose that could be relaxing. Now that I think about it, I guess I would rather have my kid lick his body than drag his tongue over spilled maple syrup and dried jelly on the kitchen floor. That's the dog's job.

I don't get like, the obsession with toddlers being all done up (hence Pippa wearing boys clothes), as long as they are clean, I don't see the need to add anything else unless it is a special occasion. Older, when it is something the kids want then yes consider it, or just catch your five year old absolutely covering himself in deodorant!

I don't get it either except that the company may be targeting kids that have everything--it may make a good gift??? BTW, Samual, I love that Pippa wears boys clothes!!!
