Going Bonkers for Christmas

My moms’ group had its kids’ Christmas party at Going Bonkers. Last year’s party was at the Wiggly Play Center. Santa was there and I couldn’t even get Jessie in the same room with him. There was no Santa at the party this year, but a lot of fun all the same. Going Bonkers is a play center with climbing structures, coin operated rides, arcade, and concession area. Jessie started asking to take her shoes off when we pulled into the parking lot. She headed for the tall structure as soon as we got in the door. She started climbing … Continue reading

DFW Family Expo

The DFW Family Expo was on Saturday. I haven’t researched to see if there’s anything comparable to this in California, but we didn’t have children when we still lived there. We had been actively trying to conceive for years without success, so the chances of my looking for, paying attention to, or attending a huge day-long event devoted to all things babies, children, and families were very small. I attended my first DFW Family Expo two years ago. I learned about the Expo because of my relationship with my mom’s group and Metroplex Baby and Kids. When we went last … Continue reading

Jump N Land

I love our house. I wish we weren’t so far away from everything, but I still love where we live. We have a large property and the potential for a great and kid-friendly yard. Unfortunately, we do not have a fence; we cannot let the toddler go out back to play because out back is too vast and open. Jessie never stays put and wants to go visit the neighbors. Toddlers need places to play. Toddlers need to run and jump and climb. Toddlers need to be able to be as loud as they want to be. One of my … Continue reading

Toddler’s First School Party

Going Bonkers is where my moms’ group has most of its active kids’ events. Jessie and I love Going Bonkers. Baby E is too little to appreciate it, but she won’t always be. One of the things I love about Going Bonkers is that upon entering the children and parents are stamped with the same number in fluorescent ink. The children are not leaving alone nor are they leaving with people they are not supposed to be leaving with. My moms’ group had its annual Valentine’s Day party at Going Bonkers. I was so excited when I got the ticket … Continue reading

Visiting Santa

I recently wrote about our Breakfast With Santa. The toddler would not get within two feet of Santa. I really don’t blame her; I never liked Santa when I was a child. I don’t like characters at all; I’ve been a character and I still don’t like characters. Last year we got a picture of the family with Jessie hysterical while I held her behind Santa. My photographer friend did non-Santa Christmas shoots for all the families who didn’t get a picture with Santa at my moms’ groups Christmas party at Wiggly Play Center. Jessie wouldn’t go in the same … Continue reading
